What People Say

  • FUN in Iceland, in winter!!

This was a brilliant 10 day FUN tour with local man Jens as our great driver, as well as a terrific planner and co-ordinator. Jens knowledge of Iceland, both historic and geological, was fantastic and he was able to give our lovely group of six passengers just enough information so we were not overloaded. His reading of an Icelandic fairy tale was looked forward to each day.
Being in a small bus, Jens was able to take us to scenic places (and waterfalls) that the full size tourist buses could not go. Each lunch stop, Jens would check with our evening dinner venue, and would be able to tell us what the evening meal would be and what we could expect with the local catch of the day or regional speciality. Each day a local dish and never 2 days the same, wonderful!!
The accommodation chosen by Jens were all farm stays or small guesthouses, all very clean, cosy and comfortable. Breakfasts were also very well done with plenty to choose from and to cater for all tastes.
We were just blown away by the fabulous scenery of Iceland and seeing the Northern lights on one occasion was icing on the cake.
We could not fault Jens in any way, not that we were looking for faults, this was a fabulous tour, very highly recommended and would readily do it all again.

I loved this tour. It had the right balance of sightseeing and adventure. And our dinners were delicious, meticulously chosen by our guide, Jens

  • Wonderful 10 Days

Our family of 4 travelled from Malaysia with our friends from Europe, also a family of 4. Jens did a great job in remotely coordinating our joint holiday, and all at very short notice as we only decided on Iceland as our destination 3 months before. A couple of other agencies declined our request outright, citing that we were way too late to find suitable accommodation.
We really appreciated Jens' attention to detail re timing, accommodation, pre-planned dinner menus and tourist information. He is a very good driver, and his 12-seater van was more than ample for the whole group.
All in all a remarkable holiday in Iceland - would highly recommend Fun Travel.

  • Bjarni Karl was the best!

A little overdue. We were there in June (which was like 5 minutes ago)! We did the Golden Circle Tour ending with the Secret Lagoon. We were there June 11 and the weather was beautiful. Blue skies, green fields and baby animals everywhere. The waterfalls were perfect. Bjarni is very professional and added a special touch to the end of our tour! Sample some of the local liqueurs, delightful. I will recommend this Tour Group to anyone going over there! Well Done!

  • Great value for a magical experience

I had originally gave up on an Icelandic holiday as most tour prices are quite prohibitively high. Then I chanced upon Fun Travel on the internet.
My family of 4 went on the Iceland Complete tour with Jens in June 2018. We travelled with another family of 4 so the 12-seater van was very comfortable. Jens is a very safe driver and a thoughtful guide. He obliged when we requested to experience the hot baths at the less touristy Myvatn area, and to see the Icelandic horses in the stable.
We particularly appreciate Jens' curation of accomodations and dinner menus throughout the tour so that we get to experience the best of each region. Jens made the tour experience even more magical with his daily and appropriately timed fairy tales.

Overall the tour was very reasonably priced and I would recommend it to everyone considering Iceland. I look forward to seeing Iceland in winter with Fun Travel.

  • One of the best tours I have ever taken. Very reasonably priced for Iceland.

I have wanted to visit Iceland for a very long time but have not been able to find a reasonably priced tour until I found this tour. It is a small group tour. We had 8 people on our tour with the ages of the participants ranging from approximately 12 to 76 years old. The tour includes a centrally located hotel room the night of arrival and the night before departure. We arranged to go directly to the Blue Lagoon on the day of our arrival and then spent the rest of the first day exploring downtown Reykjavik. Breakfast and dinner was included on all days except the day of arrival and departure. If you have researched Iceland you will find that an average lunch will cost $25-$30 not including a drink / dessert/ additional sides. Having breakfast and dinner included saves you quite a bit of money. The tour left from the included hotel the morning after arrival and we stayed at different farms / guest houses / bed and breakfast establishments each night. The guest houses all had very good breakfasts. Only one facility had the typical bacon /eggs American breakfast. The others had a typical European breakfast with meat, cheese, bread, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, juices, etc. and the one that had an American breakfast also had a European breakfast. The rooms were clean, well maintained, and all of them had a toilet/shower ensuite. The pace of the tour was perfect. Being a small group made it easy for everyone to spend enough time enjoying the sights. We never felt pressured to rush so that the group did not leave without us. We saw geysers, waterfalls, black sand beaches, glaciers, the included glacier lagoon boat ride, seals, beautiful rock formations, an arctic fox, hot springs, mud bubbling up from the ground, sheep, Icelandic horses, quaint towns, etc. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour and I would love to do it again.
