FAQ & Useful Information
How Are You Different?
Fun Travel is a small, privately owned company with small overhead or administrative cost.
We use privately owned hotels, guesthouses and farm hotels.
And maybe what is most important; a small company has only it’s reputation so each client is very important.
What should I wear on your tours?
The Icelandic climate is very unpredictable the whole year round thus we recommend to all our guests to bring good sturdy shoes for trekking, a warm wind and rainproof jacket and trousers, gloves or mittens, good head wear and sunglasses.
Do you do private departures for any of your tours?
Yes, we can arrange private departures on request.
Can I get vegetarian meals on tours?
Yes, we can arrange vegetarian food but vegan food might be a bit limited.
Is daylight a problem during your winter tours?
Luckily, it is not completely dark in winter. Even during the shortest days in the winter there are several hours of daylight every day. We always adjust the itinerary so you get the most of the limited daylight.
What type of power outlets are used in Iceland? Do I need to bring an adapter?
The standard in Iceland is 230V and 50Hz and we use F-type power sockets and plugs, so you might have to bring an adaptor if you are visiting from UK, USA, Canada or other countries using a different voltage, Hz or plugs.
How can I pay for my booking?
We accept Visa and Master Card credit cards and payments by electronic bank transfer.
What currency do you accept?
We process all payments in Icelandic krona (ISK). Prices in your currency might slightly vary depending on the conversion rate set by your card issuer.
Cancellations for longer tours:
A cancellation fee of 10% of the tour price and accommodation will be retained for us for cancellations made from 1 month to 14 days before departure. From 14 days until 7 days before departure, the fee is 50%. If the cancellation is made in less than 7 days notice we charge 100% cancellation fee.
Important Liability:
Fun Travel cannot accept responsibility for defaults or delays caused by contracting parties. We reserve the right to change routes and hotels without prior notice should road, weather conditions or operational situations so dictate. We strongly recommend that all travelers to Iceland have general travel insurance issued in their country of residence.
